Welcome to Merganser Lodge

Merganser Lodge has clean and comfortable guest rooms and is situated on the Missouri River, three miles south of Cascade, Montana. The Lodge's twenty acres are surrounded by private ranch land and provide a relaxed and informal atmosphere to enjoy the panoramic views of the nearby mountains and listen to the flow of the Missouri River.

Whether looking out the Lodge's extensive windows, or relaxing on the deck, you might see an osprey catch a fish, young Mergansers practicing their swimming, or a pair of eagles soaring overhead. A fawn may frolic through the yard as you sip a cup of coffee and view a breathtaking sunrise. Or you might hear the howl of coyotes while enjoying an evening cocktail under the stars.

Activities to be enjoyed in the area include fly-fishing a world-renowned section of the Missouri River. Float the river with a fishing guide, rent a raft for a leisurely float, or fish from the banks of the Lodge's half-mile of private river frontage.

Arrangements can be made for exclusive hunting privileges for you and your party on 2700 mountain acres located a short distance from the Lodge, where you can hunt for deer, antelope, elk, bear or mountain lion.

Other activities to be enjoyed in the area include horseback riding, bird watching, photography and hiking. Whatever you choose, we will be pleased to assist you in making arrangements.

Merganser Lodge is situated on the route traveled by explorers Lewis and Clark, and in Great Falls, located twenty-five miles north of the Lodge, you will find the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. Great Falls is also home to the C.M. Russell Art Museum, featuring works of cowboy artist Charles M. Russell, who was once a Cascade resident.

Located in central Montana, Merganser Lodge is mid-way between Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks. Travel 60 miles south of the Lodge through the beautiful Wolf Creek Canyon, to Helena, the State Capitol. Nearby Holter Lake and the unique Gates of the Mountains provide additional scenic and recreational opportunities.

Room Rates: $115 per night for one person, $65 for the second person, $45 for each additional person, plus 7 percent state lodging facility sales and use tax. These rates include a full breakfast. Lunches and family style dinners are available for an additional charge. Reservations are required.
